Popeyes® Unleashes Monster Chicken
Hunger was definitely on the run in Toronto this week as Popeyes® launched an irreverent new campaign. Running throughout 2007, the advertising is mainly directed towards young men and includes an integrated campaign of out of home, video boards, FSI's and online media.
Created by The BrainStorm Group, the creative features a Monster Chicken that towers menacingly over the Toronto cityscape. In the video execution, the Monster Chicken swats a helicopter before glaring into the camera.
"The world of fast food advertising is a crowded place and we simply weren't in a position to outspend the competition. We needed a campaign that could really break through and get noticed," said Steve Nilsen, Director of International Marketing and Business Development for Popeyes®. "The BrainStorm Group delivered a unique and imaginative solution that also emphasized the big taste of Popeyes chicken."
